About the role: Non-Clinical Needs Assessor
Non-Clinical Needs Assessors play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive, person-centred home support assessments for older individuals, in alignment with the Aged Care Act 2024. Leveraging the Integrated Assessment Tool (IAT), they evaluate and identify appropriate entry-level care supports tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances.
These assessments adopt a holistic approach, encompassing environmental, physical, and social dimensions—including levels of independence, functional capacity, and existing support networks.
Following each assessment, the Assessor develops a detailed and individualised Support Plan, articulating key findings, personal goals, and targeted service recommendations to enhance wellbeing and support older people to remain living independently at home.
To ensure success in the role, an extensive and structured orientation program is provided, incorporating the National Training Program. This comprehensive induction and initial education phase spans approximately two months and is delivered through a blended learning approach. Training includes a combination of online modules, practical on-the-job experience, and formal learner appraisals, equipping Assessors with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to perform the role to a high standard.
