Remuneration$278,355 to $376,068 per annum full-time equivalent depending on experience

*This vacancy is for an initial period from August 2026 to January 2029 at 8 hrs per week; the hours and period of employment may change and there is also the possibility of an extension at same/increased/decreased hours.

About the Role
 

Lismore Base Hospital is a regional referral, Level 5 Base Hospital providing a wide range of health services to residents in Northern NSW.  We are seeking a qualified Specialist Haematologist to provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Haematology services for optimal patient outcomes across multiple Network hospitals including Inpatient Services, Outpatient Clinics, Oncall and Consultancy as applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care.   The successful applicant will also provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Haematologist, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
  2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Haematology at the role delineation of the service.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. .
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
