The Opportunity
NNSWLHD Richmond Network is seeking a FRACP accredited specialist in Geriatric Medicine to take on the role of Permanent Part-Time Staff Specialist Geriatrician. This role provides high-quality specialist medical care to older persons presenting to Lismore Base Hospital and across Northern NSW Local Health District. The role is actively involved in the development, enhancement, and integration of Geriatric Services across the district, supporting contemporary, patient-centered models of care.
Geriatrics services from Lismore Base Hospital currently involves the inpatient care for orthogeriatrics and psychogeriatrics and provides consultative services for dementia and delirium across the Richmond Network. Outpatient services involve regular Aged Care Clinics and residential in reach for behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
The position will contribute to inpatient consultative services, outpatient clinics, and supports development of community-based and multidisciplinary models of care in the local region

- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Geriatrician, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Geriatric Medicine at the role delineation of the service
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
