We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Network Support Officer to join our Statewide Network Services (SNS) team, supporting the delivery of critical network services across NSW Health. This role is essential in ensuring our statewide network operations run smoothly, reliably, and efficiently.
The Network Support Officer is responsible for the ongoing operation, monitoring, and maintenance of large-scale network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance across geographically dispersed sites. The role involves proactively monitoring network services and responding/resolving incidents, performing routine maintenance including patching and upgrades, and supporting the configuration of network devices such as routers and switches. It also requires maintaining accurate documentation, contributing to incident, problem, and change management aligned with ITIL practices and collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure reliable and efficient delivery of state-wide network services in a 24/7 operational environment.
In this role, you will:
- Effectively manage operational issues to ensure continuous effective service delivery and a performance based, innovative, responsive and accountable customer focused work culture.
- Ensure the eHealth Network infrastructure Services are available, reliable, secure and are performing at its optimal level.
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of Network support service standard operating procedures.
- Proactively developing effective working relationships with users and senior management of the eHealth NSW, LHD's and other Health entities.
- Ensure SWSD tickets (incidents, problems, requests, and changes) are resolved within the SLA defined timeframes.
- Proactively participate in the development, implementation and promotion of new initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change and improve the performance of the SNS teams handling of all faults related incidents, service requests and Change orders.

We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated experience in network operations and support within a large-scale or enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing and switching , VLANs, and WAN technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring, fault management, and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of operational frameworks such as ITIL.
- Well-developed problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to participate in on-call and after-hours support as required.
