The Opportunity
As a Social Worker Level 3 Clinician, you will provide advanced clinical social work services to clients and their families/carers across the service. You will manage complex psychosocial presentations, undertake comprehensive psychosocial assessments and interventions, and provide support, advocacy, counselling, therapy, care coordination and referral to appropriate services. The role involves working collaboratively with patients, families, carers, community clients, agencies and a broad range of health professionals to achieve positive outcomes and support safe and effective discharge and continuity of care within the Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri region.
You will also contribute to service development, clinical education, quality improvement and the development of social work practice within the service. The role provides an opportunity to use your advanced clinical skills while supporting the ongoing development of social work services in a rural setting. The position reports to the relevant Social Work/Allied Health management structure within Hunter New England Health and works closely with the broader multidisciplinary team.
You will join a supportive multidisciplinary environment with access to clinical supervision, professional support and opportunities for ongoing learning and development. A comprehensive orientation will be provided to assist you to understand the service, local referral pathways, clinical systems (including SDPR) and HNE Health processes. Your initial orientation and development needs will include mandatory training, with opportunities to establish an individual professional development plan. Ongoing professional development may include access to education sessions, clinical supervision, mandatory training, networking opportunities and relevant HNE Health education and development programs. You will also have opportunities to contribute to and learn from an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Requirements
- Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
