We are offering an exciting new permanent position for an experienced Music Therapist Educator within our Child Life and Music Therapy Department at The Children's Hospital, Westmead. The role has a non-clinical component of 8hours and a clinical allocation of 16hours within the Music Therapy team. With specialist knowledge and experience this combined clinical and educational role will contribute to the department's growth and development by leading staff and student clinical education. Please note the days of work and length of shifts are negotiable with the successful applicant of this role.
What you'll be doing
The Music Therapist will provide family centred clinical services to inpatients and/or outpatients referred to Music Therapy.
The Music Therapist will provide a comprehensive Music Therapy service to the children, young people and families of the hospital. This service will be delivered through individual and group session in accordance with the principles and practices of Music Therapy and will include assessment and interventions as appropriate.
The Level 3 Music Therapy will use their advanced professional knowledge and experience to support staff and to share in the growth and development of the department by:
- Planning, development and evaluation of Music Therapy services.
- Development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and practice guidelines for patient care.
The Music Therapist will be managed by the Family Support Manager at Bear Cottage and professionally report to the heads of Department, Child Life Therapy CHW.
