The Music Therapist will provide a comprehensive Music Therapy service to the adolescents / young adultse and families of the AYAH. This service will be delivered through individual and group sessions in accordance with the principles and practices of Music Therapy and will include assessment and interventions as appropriate.

What you'll be doing
The Music Therapist will provide family centred clinical services to inpatients and/or outpatients referred to Music Therapy.
The Music Therapist will provide a comprehensive Music Therapy service to the adolescents / young adultse and families of the AYAH. This service will be delivered through individual and group sessions in accordance with the principles and practices of Music Therapy and will include assessment and interventions as appropriate.
The Music Therapist will use their advanced professional knowledge and experience to support staff and to share in the growth and development of the AYAH by:
- Planning, development and evaluation of Music Therapy services.
- Development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and practice guidelines for patient care
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Recognised Music Therapy Degree which provides eligibility for registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association and minimum experience at a Level 2 Music Therapist within a Health environment or equivalent.
Knowledge and understanding of Young adult palliative care, the effects of stress and trauma in this population and the workings of a hospice.
