What you'll be doing
The role provides expert geriatric leadership, both operational and strategic, for the MNCLHD ACOS. It plays a key role in shaping the future direction of the service and advancing innovative models of care, including virtual modalities.
The position supports service development, clinical practice improvement, innovation, and quality and safety initiatives. It may also provide specialist geriatric consultation to MNCLHD ACOS medical and clinical services. Additionally, the Geriatrician works in partnership with internal and external clinicians to plan, develop, and implement integrated MNCLHD ACOS models, fostering a collaborative approach to service delivery.
This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

- Currently registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and/or relevant equivalent specialist recognition.
- Demonstrates effective clinical expertise and leadership in an area of practice relevant to MNCLHD ACOS, with ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership and workforce management experience in a complex public health organisation.
- Proven capability to develop and implement complex strategic initiatives including the capability to plan, manage change and improve performance based on service redesign and service implementation methodologies.
- Superior interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships, to network and engage, collaborate with and influence key stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical governance quality and compliance processes, and in leading or conducting research, innovation, service redesign or quality improvement initiatives.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical training accreditation processes, and proven experience in the development, growth and delivery of interprofessional education and training.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and ability to travel as required.
