Selection Criteria
- Holds an MBBS or equivalent, with current registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in General Practice, Emergency Medicine or Rural & Remote Medicine, or General Registration with a minimum of seven years' experience as a senior medical officer in a regional or rural NSW emergency medicine department, and compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements as a GP.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches to the assessment and management of a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions, with competence in performing urgent minor procedures commonly undertaken in rural emergency departments, including Advanced Life Support and Trauma management.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with the capability to provide leadership and guidance to team members.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Availability and willingness to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on-site within a reasonable timeframe.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours consistent with the NSW Health CORE Values and the MLHD values, goals, and strategies.
