About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced leader to join us in this critical leadership role, overseeing the delivery of the Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment (MERIT) program across Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD).

As the MERIT Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating the MERIT program to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service delivery aligned with NSW Health standards and guidelines.
  • Managing a multidisciplinary, multi-agency team structure that supports sustainable and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Providing operational leadership including recruitment, onboarding, professional development, WHS, staff wellbeing, rostering, and industrial matters.
  • Promoting high-quality, evidence-based care and innovative service delivery across the MERIT team.
  • Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, including regular communication with Magistrates and Local Courts.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary Qualifications relevant to Alcohol and Other Drugs service delivery, including psychology; nursing; social Work; occupational therapy or related field.
  • Clinical and management experience, working within Alcohol and Other Drugs.
  • High level interpersonal skills, and written communication skills including the ability to engage and collaborate with a broad range of service partners and to effectively communicate and consult with other health, community and welfare professionals.
  • High level of skill in the analysis of complex issues and data and the capacity to synthesis this information to contribute to strategic planning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current Alcohol and Other Drugs policies and procedures and treatment approaches, particularly how these apply to the MERIT program.
