About us:
The New England Northwest (NENW) Mental Health Service seeks a dedicated and passionate Mental Health Rehabilitation Clinician to temporarily join our Northwest Community Mental Health team.
You will be a part of a contemporary and innovative service that provides mental health rehabilitation and consultation across the communities of the Northwest district.
The service maintains a strong clinical governance structure to ensure the provision of consistent evidence based mental health rehabilitation for every patient every time. The team is passionate about leading change and innovation in the delivery of ambulatory mental health services, with a strong multidisciplinary leadership team.
About the role:
As a L3 Mental Health Rehabilitation Clinician within the Northwest Community Mental Health Service you will be providing high quality rehabilitation assessments and individually tailored clinical rehabilitation interventions along with care co-ordination within a mental health rehabilitation framework for consumers with complex clinical situations. You will provide specialist advice to your colleagues in relation to consumer’s mental health rehabilitation needs. You will work collaboratively with services in the NDIS and Community Managed Organisation sectors to facilitate appropriate supports for consumers in the community. As a senior clinician you will provide professional supervision, leadership and advocacy for the profession within the service.
The successful applicant will be supported in this position by the Northwest Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Coordinator, Northwest Community Mental Health Clinical Coordinator, the Northwest Community Mental Health Team Manager, Professional Lead and the NENW Service Manager. The successful applicant will have access to mandated regular structured clinical supervision as well as wider professional development and ongoing education opportunities.
About you:
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be highly utilised in this position to build relationships with consumers, their carers/families and other professionals as you work together to establish goals, ensure needs are met and maintain maximum levels of health and independence.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team in a senior position who practices autonomously but in collaboration with others to assess and manage clients within their clinical context using expert knowledge and skill at an advanced level.
Requirements:
- Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clin Psychology/ clin psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program), which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. For a CNS2: relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of a post-graduate qualification.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
