Join the Blacktown Early Assess Team (BEAT), part of Prenatal, Child, Youth Mental Health Services (PCYMHS) within Western Sydney Local Health District. Located at the Rupertswood Hub, Mt Druitt Hospital, BEAT is a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to improving outcomes for youth and young adults experiencing complex mental health challenges.

What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Clinician, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, client-centered care to young people and their families. You’ll conduct comprehensive assessments, provide therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and wellbeing.
Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-focused mental health care
Conduct assessments including psychosocial, functional, cognitive, and risk evaluations
Provide individual, family, and group therapy tailored to youth needs
Engage in community outreach including home visits and interagency collaboration
Participate in clinical supervision, peer support, and quality improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications in the fields of Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Social Work
Registration: Registration or eligibility of respective professional body
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrate extensive clinical experiences including intake/triage, assessment, care planning, treatment, case management/coordination and transfer of care with young people who have complex mental health issues and/or dual diagnoses
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in using individual and family-based interventions, functional, living skills, vocational, psychosocial interventions and therapeutic models of care, psychological assessments and services, and specialized nursing care in mental health
Demonstrated commitment to working and partnering with Aboriginal consumers, families and their communities as well as improving health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups/consumers within local community
Competent working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act 2007 and other relevant legislation
Knowledge of evidence based practice in mental health recovery focused, trauma informed and client centred care approaches
Demonstrate experience in both providing/receiving clinical supervision, sharing professional expertise within the team, and participating in quality improvement projects
Effective consultation and negotiation skills, communication skills, report writing and computer/IT literacy
Current driver’s license, ability and willingness to travel for work purposes
