What you'll be doing
An opportunity exists for a Radiographer to join the Breast Cancer Institute, delivering screening mammography as part of the BreastScreen NSW program. You will perform high-quality mammograms in accordance with national standards while providing compassionate, person-centred care to women across Western Sydney. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to early breast cancer detection, quality assurance, and continuous service improvement. BCI offers a supportive environment with ongoing professional development and specialised breast imaging training. This role is ideal for radiographers committed to clinical excellence and improving women’s health outcomes through early detection.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Mammographer to operate at a senior level, applying advanced clinical judgement while supporting quality, safety and service delivery. Your key responsibilities will be to:
Perform complex, high-quality mammographic examinations aligned with National Accreditation Standards
Lead and participate in comprehensive QA programs to maintain best practice imaging standards
Manage workflow in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with precision and efficiency
Provide empathetic, person-centred care that supports patients physically and psychologically
Mentor and support fellow Medical Radiation Scientists while maintaining CCPM accreditation
You will participate in a rotating 7-day roster and travel across screening sites, expanding your professional scope and community impact.
What you will bring
Clinical Proficiency in Mammography (CPM/CCPM)
Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner
NSW EPA Radiation Licence (IA14)
Strong knowledge of BreastScreen Australia and National Accreditation Standards
Exceptional communication, organisational and problem-solving skills

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
Registration: Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner
License: NSW Environment Protection Agency EPA Radiation Licence IA14
Selection Criteria:
Possession of Clinical Proficiency in Mammography Certificate (CPM), is registered with AHPRA and has current NSW Radiation Licence
Provide high quality Breast Imaging service that is patient focused, according to the objectives and policies of the BCI
High level customer service skills, and effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative
Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem solving and formulating new approaches
Working knowledge of mammography equipment and knowledge of BreastScreen Australia Program and the National Accreditation Standards
