NSW Health Pathology are seeking a Full Time Manager, Trust Accounting based in our Newcastle office.

What you'll be doing

The Manager, Trust Accounting will coordinate day-to-day activities in the Trust Accounting team, including providing Rights of Private Practice (RoPP) advice to staff specialists.  Your day to day work will involve management of two direct reports and their workloads, administering trust accounts for staff specialists, overseeing both reimbursements and calculation of drawings payments for staff specialists, providing month end revenue performance reports to staff specialists and Trust groups and ensuring all month-end journals / tasks are completed within the prescribed deadlines.

  1. Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Health Administration or management-related discipline, membership of a recognised Australian professional accounting body (CA or CPA) and/or a combination of work and study equivalent to same.
  2. Ability to meet deadlines and plan workload so that customer expectations are met, as well as experience in working within a highly regulated workplace.
  3. Conceptual and innovative problem-solving skills for managing conflicting priorities and developing timely, successful recommendations and advice on strategy and solutions in relation to Rights of Private Practice.
  4. High level, detailed understanding of GST requirements, as well as an understanding of Rights of Private Practice arrangements for NSW Health staff specialists.
  5. Strong interpersonal, influencing and motivational skills which demonstrate a capacity to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills, particularly in reporting, public presentation and consultation.
  6. Demonstrated experience in managing large bank reconciliations at a senior level.
  7. Proven effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to staff with limited understanding of underlying issues.
