  1. Extensive knowledge and experience in the successful management and coordination of claims under the Workers Compensation Act 1987, the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998 and subsequent amendments made in 2012.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience in use of current injury management systems and tools; demonstrated experience in quality improvement principles, policy and procedure development and implementation.
  3. Demonstrated experience in effective planning, organising and problem solving skills; proven ability to interpret and apply Acts, Regulations and Awards.
  4. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships including a demonstrated commitment to providing effective client services and to interact with involved staff, management and external stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrated people management skills, including the ability to supervise and motivate staff in a high volume work environment and the ability to deliver multiple outcomes within tight timeframes where attention to detail is essential. In addition a demonstrated ability to provide staff support, staff development, performance management and the early identification of unacceptable workplace behaviours and taking appropriate action such as investigation, resolution and monitoring of harassment and bullying, grievance issues and conflict resolution.
  6. Relevant tertiary qualifications or related experience in, or knowledge of allied health initiatives in relation to injury management and recover at work including SafeWork NSW Return to Work Coordination Accreditation and SafeWork NSW exemption.
  7. Well-developed PC, keyboard skills and experience in the use of the Microsoft Office software (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and power point).
