The Role

Are you a passionate and strategic leader ready to drive meaningful change in healthcare equity and inclusion?
St George Hospital is seeking a dynamic Manager of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging to lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing inclusive care across our services. This pivotal role oversees programs and initiatives supporting Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, people with disabilities, carers, LGBTIQ+ individuals, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families.

As the Manager, you will:

•    Lead and inspire a team of professionals across diverse health portfolios.
•    Champion inclusive practices that improve patient experience and outcomes.
•    Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed equity and belonging into every aspect of care.
•    Drive innovation and cultural change through education, advocacy, and strategic planning.

We’re looking for a leader who is:

•    Committed to social justice and health equity.
•    Skilled in managing complex teams and stakeholder relationships.
•    Experienced in working across diverse communities and health systems.

This position reports to the manager of the Social Work Department at St George hospital and has access to monthly supervision, professional development and wellbeing activities.

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or public sector management or equivalent senior industry experience along with relevant experience of working with multicultural communities.
  2. Demonstrated leadership skills to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture and lead change.
  3. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills with a strong customer service approach.
  4. Effective skills in information technology and systems, including office systems.
  5. Demonstrated high level experience in policy development and understanding of relevant multicultural policies and plans for a culturally diverse society.
  6. Demonstrated understanding of the health, social and settlement needs and access and equity issues affecting communities from CALD backgrounds, and how they may impact on achieving desired health outcomes.
  7. Proven expertise in project management and in developing and supporting partnerships and relationships with stakeholders.
  8. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders.
