      About The Opportunity
      Do you get satisfaction from building strong partnerships? Have you had experience working with education providers to develop Student Placement Agreements? Do you feel you have strong commercial skills?  This role offers the perfect blend of relationship management, commercial focus and plays a key role in supporting all students who flow into one of the largest local health districts in NSW.

      In this role, you will:

      • Establish and maintain partnerships with universities and education providers.
      • Develop and manage student placement agreements.
      • Ensure compliance with legal and commercial requirements.
      • Identify opportunities to expand and enhance our placement offerings.

      Your ability to balance strategic negotiation with a student-first mindset will be key. 

      What You'll Be Doing
      The Manager Future Workforce Support Unit is a management position in the Education & Organisational Development Service (EODS), within People & Culture. This position is responsible for the coordination of the student placements (clinical, corporate and support roles), traineeships, apprenticeships, work experience and vocational education & training (VET) in Schools programs. The Future Workforce Support Unit manages all centralised placements within SWSLHD and an internal nursing facilitation model. This role will work strategically with People and Culture to coordinate programs and build partnerships with education providers and universities to drive this work.
       
      SWSLHD is recognised as a leading provider of education, training and organisational development initiatives to a health workforce of over 17,000 staff.  EODS supports the achievement of the LHDs strategic goals, with a focus on supporting our staff to positively transform how our patients, consumers, staff and communities experience our organisation and services.
       
      The Service consists of staff with expertise in clinical and non-clinical education and organisational development focussed on the delivery of the EODS Operational Plan. The departments programs and services focus on enabling a positive workplace culture, developing high performing teams and ensuring our work environment attracts and retains talent. The key portfolios within the department include Multidisciplinary Clinical Education & Development Unit, Corporate & Support Services Education & Development Unit, Learning Hub, Organisational Development, Culture & Diversity Unit and Future Workforce Support Unit.

      How to Apply

      1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant work experience.
      2. Please outline your experience managing the student placement function with a focus on what makes the processes operate most effectively. 

      3. Student Placement Agreements (SPASs) form an important part of the Future Workforce Support Units function within SWSLHD. Please outline your experience forming SPAs with education partners including in your response some of the key factors to take into account when developing a SPA.

      4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
