The Mental Health Commission NSW is seeking interested applicants for the position Corporate Governance and Risk Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the corporate governance, compliance an risk portfolio with the Director of Operations and Culture.

The Mental Health Commission of New South Wales (the Commission) was established in July 2012. The Commission's purpose is to lead, drive and measure mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention reform across whole of government. Our progressive work shapes contemporary policies to achieve the best outcomes for the people of NSW.

Primary Purpose of the Role
The Manager, Finance and ICT leads the delivery of high-quality financial, procurement, ICT, and corporate support services to enable effective operations and strategic decision-making across the agency. This role ensures services are delivered efficiently in alignment with legislative and policy requirements. It provides expert advice and oversight across:
• Financial management, budgeting, and reporting
• Procurement and contracts management
• External audit coordination
• ICT infrastructure, support, and cybersecurity
• Facilities and corporate records management
The position fosters a culture of continuous improvement, digital innovation, and service excellence, supporting informed decision making and sustainable resource management.
About You
You are a strategic and results-driven finance leader with tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, ICT, or a related discipline, and membership of a professional accounting body. With extensive experience in financial management, reporting, and compliance within government or complex organisations, you bring strong knowledge of NSW Government frameworks for procurement, audit, and financial governance.
You excel at delivering high-quality corporate services across finance, ICT, facilities, and records management, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and innovation. Skilled in digital transformation and ICT service delivery, you combine technical expertise with a customer-focused approach. Your exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills enable you to influence at all levels, while your resilience and courage allow you to navigate challenges and make sound decisions under pressure. Above all, you foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence to support strategic priorities.
Essential Requirements: (to be addressed in your application)
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, ICT, or a related discipline. Membership of a professional accounting body (CPA, CA, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations, reporting, and compliance in a government or complex organisational context.
• Strong knowledge of NSW Government procurement, audit, and financial management frameworks.
• Proven leadership in ICT service delivery and digital transformation.
• Experience in facilities and corporate records management.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
