About the role

The System Performance Support Branch is delivering the NSW Government's Emergency Department (ED) Relief Package, a multi-year investment to improve access to care and ease pressure on public hospitals. This role leads communications, engagement and change management activity for flagship initiatives including the Single Front Door and ConnectMH, the new Mental Health Single Front Door as well as Urgent Care Service, Emergency Department Short Stay beds and Virtual Care.
You will work as a key interface with the Strategic Communications and Engagement team and the statewide 'Call Healthdirect' campaign, helping the people of NSW understand and adopt new models of care and safely access alternatives to the emergency department. It is a high-profile, fast-paced role where your work directly shapes community awareness, trust and uptake of services. Health Manager Level 4, starting salary from $147,653 – $175,917 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and manage cross-functional projects within the branch, developing and implementing key communication, engagement and change initiatives that support strategic objectives.
- Manage all aspects of project delivery, including project plans, resources, contracts, risks, budgets and reporting, to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, on budget and to quality standards.
- Prepare high quality written material, including communication strategies, reports, briefs, correspondence and cabinet documents, to inform or respond to agency and Government requests.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and work closely with Strategic Communications and Engagement to integrate branch strategies with broader Ministry communications.
- Identify and progress new channels, processes and practices that improve the quality, effectiveness and accessibility of communications for target audiences.
About you
We are seeking a motivated and committed individual who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience developing and delivering communications, engagement and change management projects that support strategic implementation and behavioural change.
- Proven experience in the end-to-end management of multiple, integrated communication campaigns.
- Advanced interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Knowledge and understanding of NSW Health strategic priorities and key challenges, with the ability to translate clinical and complex concepts clearly for a wide range of audiences.
- Strong project management capability, including the ability to manage competing priorities within agreed timeframes, budgets and statutory requirements.
