Level 3 Orthoptist
- Bachelor of Applied Science (orthoptics) or Post graduate degree in Orthoptics or equivalent which provides eligibility for registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in the field of paediatric orthoptics, with the ability to work independently and make strong clinical decisions
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Demonstrate an ability to learn subspeciality skills such as the insertion and management of paediatric contact lenses
- Demonstrated ability to lead ongoing quality improvement activities
- Experience with clinical research and clinical in-service education programs to staff and students
- Demonstrated high level organisation and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands
