About the role
This is a permanent full-time position within our department working in a rotational position within inpatient, community, acute or rehabilitation setting. Specific clinical caseload to be determined. This position offers future opportunities to work in various clinical areas within the department, and caseloads may change based on clinical demand.
What you'll be doing
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll provide high quality, evidence-based, client-centred care to support the health and wellbeing of clients across WSLHD. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapeutic interventions, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and foster a positive patient experience.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver targeted Occupational Therapy interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to patient medical records
- Provide supervision and support to allied health assistants and students as required
- Participate in clinical quality improvement activities and service development initiatives

- Demonstrated clinical experience (or clinical placement experience for new graduates) in an acute care and/or rehabilitation/community setting including experience in discharge planning, home assessment, home modifications and equipment prescription.

- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
