About the role

The Legal Officer I-III provides professional legal services and advice within the Ministry of Health and the broader public health system. The role works across diverse areas of the law including answering and advising on general legal and commercial issues, regulatory questions and health and medico-legal issues.
Legal Officer 1-3, starting salary from $81,702 - $138,492 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards
This is a full time temporary (24 month) employment role with the potential to go permanent.

What you will be doing
- Drafting high quality advice on a range of matters affecting the Ministry of Health and the NSW public health system.
- Reviewing policies and contracts.
- Preparing health regulations.
- Assisting officers in the conduct of legal proceedings (including prosecutions).
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Legal qualifications, admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of NSW.
- The ability to exercise professional judgement, provide legal advice while working in a small dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
