Far West LHD has approximately 1000 employees and has a P&C team of about 20. Whilst we are small, this does not reflect the complexity of our work. We are a dynamic and multi-skilled team who work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. We are driving change and continuous improvement in our space. We seek a seasoned L&D professional to join us on this exciting journey. We support flexible work arrangements—there’s no need to move to Broken Hill. You can be based anywhere in Australia and typically visit the site about one week each month as needed.
What you'll be doing
Lead the L&D function for the District, with one direct report. Provided training, education, and support to all staff to meet the business requirements and strategic goals.
Oversee current programs and lead efforts to launch new initiatives that address workforce development requirements. Coordinate the design, delivery, and assessment of learning solutions tailored to organisational needs by utilising various models such as in-person, online, and self-paced formats.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualifications/experience
- Experience in the coordination, facilitation, delivery and evaluation of training programs across a geographically dispersed organisation.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage complex information systems including the ability to maintain data integrity, prepare, analyse and interpret system data.
- Proven interpersonal, engagement, relationship management and conflict resolution skills, including the capacity to develop effective business relationships with managers, employees, stakeholders and external service providers.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a demanding professional environment with capacity to priorities, multi-task achieve business goals, perform and always work with a customer focused approach.
- Demonstrated analytical skills including excellent verbal and written skills; and conceptual and problem solving skills including the ability to respond creatively to issues raised.
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays and provide support out of standard office hours. Current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. This may involve driving long distances.
