Join SWSLHD Health Language Services, a dedicated team committed to providing free and confidential language support services to patients across our diverse community. In this rewarding role, you will help improve access to healthcare and ensure patients can communicate effectively throughout their healthcare journey. 

You will be supported through ongoing free training and professional development opportunities, while working within a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive team environment. An office vehicle is also provided for travel between face-to-face appointments, helping you deliver services across various healthcare settings.


Are You the Right Fit? 
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent and promote Health Language Services professionally. You will bring demonstrated experience in healthcare interpreting, a strong understanding of the AUSIT Code of Ethics, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. 

To succeed in this role, you will be punctual, reliable, and organised, with sound administration skills and confidence using MS Teams, Outlook, and electronic booking systems to effectively manage appointments and daily workloads.


Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  • NAATI certification or accreditation at a paraprofessional level as a minimum.
  • How do your qualifications, NAATI certification, and relevant experience enable you to interpret effectively in medical settings while appropriately addressing social and cultural factors?
  • Can you provide examples demonstrating your communication skills, interpersonal strengths, ability to use initiative, and your capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment?
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
