SWSLHD Health Language Services provides a free and confidential service to patients who require language support, ensuring clear and effective communication in their care. Are You the Right Fit? 
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to represent and promote Health Language Services in a professional and respectful manner. They will have demonstrated experience in healthcare interpreting settings and a strong understanding of the AUSIT Code of Ethics. The role requires someone who can work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team. The successful candidate will be punctual, reliable, and equipped with sound administrative skills, including the ability to use MS Teams, Outlook, and relevant booking systems. 
 

 

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 
 

 

1. NAATI certification or accreditation at a paraprofessional level as a minimum. 
2. How do your qualifications, NAATI certification, and relevant experience enable you to interpret effectively in medical settings while appropriately addressing social and cultural factors? 
3. Can you provide examples demonstrating your communication skills, interpersonal strengths, ability to use initiative, and your capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment? 
4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
