An exciting opportunity has become available to join the District Internal Audit Team on a permanent full time basis.

Your role as Internal Auditor will provide a high level of internal audit consultancy and advisory services for the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD). You will be required to undertake reviews and risk assessments in accordance with applicable procedures and standards while contributing to the strategic planning of the district's Internal Audit function. The successful incumbent will be a part of a dynamic team responsible for performing audits and investigations, identifying areas for improvement, cost saving opportunities, and providing recommendations to address risks.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in e.g., Auditing, Accounting with membership to a relevant professional body preferred. (e.g CIA, CA, CPA) and/or relevant experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience as an Auditor in a Australian Public Sector agency of for a private organisation that conducts audits on an Australian Public Sector Agency.
  3. Ability to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of systems and controls of operations and processes, including a demonstrated ability to solve problems by applying the theories and principles of auditing, accounting and fraud investigation in a complex public sector environment.
  4. Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of current developments and techniques affecting audit operations, including the assurance that government policies and regulations, accounting and audit standards are maintained.
  5. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills working within a team and with an ability to motivate and negotiate in a flexible and innovative environment.
  6. Ability to interact independently and effectively with all levels of management on a wide variety of topics in a professional manner.
  7. Ability to analyse large volumes of transactional data and interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and regulations.
  8. Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
