Where you’ll be working 
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within Health System Support Group (HSSG) and based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW 2065. HSSG is a unit of the Public Health System Support Division of the Health Administration Corporation to provide services to support the public health system in implementing Government targets and programs.

About the Role 
The Instructional Designer/Implementation Officer is key to developing and implementing eLearning solutions as well as implementing key enterprise solutions for NSW Health including and not limited to:

  • Electronic Recommendation for Admission (eRFA)
  • Elective Surgery Demand and Capacity Dashboard
  • Patient Flow Portal
  • Emergency Access View Dashboard
  • Community Care modules
  • Clinician Billing Portal
  • Revenue Portal
  • Other State ODS Program initiatives

These applications consume large amounts of real-time data from numerous source systems used by over 25,000 staff from the Local Health Districts, Ministry of Health, Ambulance NSW, Health Share, eHealth, the Pillars and interstate jurisdictions (ACT Health and Network with Victoria).
 
The Instructional Designer/Implementation Officer would be responsible for developing and compiling all training documentation and eLearning material required to assist with implementation of the above applications.


Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the engagement with Ministry of Health (MoH) and Local Health District (LHD) stakeholders to develop implementation plans and training material for the Clinician Billing Portal, Revenue Portal, Patient Flow Systems framework and Patient Flow Portal (PFP) acute and integrated care modules.
  • Work collaboratively with MoH teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the new guidelines, processes, systems, user experiences and the documentation requirements impacting the implementation of state-wide solutions.
  • Design, develop and deliver engaging training materials and programs in accordance with the user requirements whilst applying best practice instructional design and methods.
  • Scope, write and design appropriate blended learning materials to meet different end user needs.
  • Lead research on current processes and procedures related to patient flow, integrated care, revenue and billing and its impact on end user documentation and implementation of operational systems used by the LHDs.
  • Manage the delivery of training and other implementation activities. This includes preparing and updating training and implementation plans, conducting training sessions and ensuring implementation plans are adhered to by the LHDs within the agreed timeframes.

Selection Criteria

  1. Experience (> 2 years) in developing high quality end user training material for use in various delivery modes.
  2. Experience (> 2 years) in running customised training workshops for clinicians that have differing levels of experience in the utilisation of technology.
  3. Experience (> 2 years) in writing various technical documentation such as user guides, help guides, support material, cheat sheets, release notes, eLearning content, etc.
  4. Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written and verbal with the ability to influence and inspire groups of people with a passion for transferring knowledge and skills.
  5. Experience (> 2 years) in the use of Microsoft technologies in particular Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word as well as rapid-development eLearning tools such as Captivate and Camtasia.
  6. Experience (> 2 years) in developing implementation plans, processes and tools to support the implementation of complex enterprise systems that impact numerous stakeholder groups.
  7. Strong skills in evaluation and ability to independently resolve complex issues raised by end users during and post system implementation.
  8. Relevant educational background with preference for a Bachelor degree in either Nursing or Information Technology.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy 
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
