Where you'll be working

 
The Ambulatory Care Centre is a dynamic and vibrant facility, housing over 40 outpatient specialty clinics, serving non-admitted patients. With an average of 600 patient presentations daily, we offer specialist consultations, minor procedures, and post-operative care in a state-of-the-art environment.

What you'll be doing
Medical Day Procedure Unit (MDPU) in Ambulatory Care is a district-wide service providing comprehensive infusion and day procedure services for non-admitted patients within NSLHD. The service provides complex infusions and procedure services to medical specialties and patients requiring infusions prior to major surgical procedures. 
The service is a nurse-led clinic that plays a key role in the Emergency Department (ED) and hospital avoidance through rapid triage and acceptance of referrals for frail and vulnerable patient populations requiring frequent hospital admissions. 
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 will be responsible for patient care coordination, referrals triaging, capacity management, organising blood products and medication authorisation and sourcing high-cost pharmacy items. This role will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient care and enhancing operational efficiency and patient experience.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Division 1 Registered Nurse with post registration qualification relevant to speciality and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their post graduate qualification.
  2. Evidence of and commitment to patient focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
  3. Evidence of advanced level of knowledge and skill related to management of speciality area.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence-based practice and practice development.
  5. Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service delivery, quality of care and team cohesion.
