What you'll be doing
As the Information Access Officer, you will provide specialist advice and professional support on Government Information (Public Access) (GIPA), privacy and CCTV release matters across Western Sydney Local Health District. You will ensure information access requests are managed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with legislative requirements and statutory timeframes.
 

  • Manage and determine GIPA applications, information access requests and CCTV release matters in line with relevant legislation and policy

  • Act as the key contact and subject matter expert for NSW Police CCTV access applications and related enquiries

  • Provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders on information access, privacy and records management matters

  • Develop, review and deliver policies, procedures and training that strengthen compliance and governance practices

  • Support privacy reviews, tribunal matters and records management activities while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

  1. Demonstrated knowledge and application of legislation and policies relevant to release of information

  2. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills in relation to privacy law, including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation

  3. Demonstrated knowledge of record keeping requirements for both health and non-health information.

  4. Demonstrated effective time management and ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines

  5. Proven ability to implement strategies to ensure efficient and effective service by planning; reviewing; evaluating and implementing change to achieve organisational outcomes

  6. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders, including the ability to negotiate; influence and communicate effectively

  7. Highly developed written communication skills.
