What you'll be doing 
As the Human Research Ethics Officer, you will provide essential executive and administrative support to the WSLHD Research Office, including the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and associated committees. You will coordinate ethical application reviews, provide advice to researchers, and support the management of clinical and health research projects.

  • Prepare agendas, minutes, correspondence, and manage meeting processes for HREC and committees
  • Advise and assist researchers with applications, eligibility reviews, and post-approval activities
  • Maintain research databases, records, and online systems (REGIS)
  • Ensure compliance with ethical, legislative, and institutional research requirements
  • Contribute to policy development, training, and education activities for research staff and committee members

Selection Criteria:

  1. Extensive experience as an executive assistant/personal assistant with proven strong administrative and time management skills.
  2. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills (including negotiation, minute taking, report writing, and composition of correspondence).
  3. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  4. Demonstrated learning agility and analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working. relationships including those with senior management and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated high level capacity to use office computing applications including REGIS, word processing, spreadsheets and data bases.
