NSW Health is undertaking a program of work, SIGNAL, which will strengthen and develop integrated state-wide solutions to support disease surveillance and public health response activities. SIGNAL will be critical to ensure NSW remains capable of detecting and responding rapidly to control infectious disease outbreaks and continues at the forefront of pandemic preparedness. HPNSW is the business owner and sponsor of SIGNAL; eHealth manages the delivery of SIGNAL platform.

 

The Manager, SIGNAL leads a team responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the development of SIGNAL. This position also oversees engagement of the Public Health Network to ensure changes are managed, communicated and embraced effectively, and provides strategic public health advice to eHealth on the procurement, design and delivery of the SIGNAL platform.

 

Health Manager level 4, starting salary from $147,653 - $175,917, plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage a team to provide administrative, operational and financial support to the SIGNAL Program.
  • Product Owner of the SIGNAL Platform during program development.
  • Provide leadership across the surveillance and response program of work to successfully deliver all key milestones and outcomes of the Surveillance and Response Platform.
  • Collaborate and engage with the Public Health Network as critical stakeholders to enhance organisational capabilities and to manage change.
  • Facilitate and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to support collaboration and the exchange of information to build on existing relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Analyse critical change impacts utilising quantitative and qualitative methods to contribute to the project's success and facilitate the development of strategies and tactics to address the identified gaps.
  • Provide subject matter expert advice on the change impact and proposed solutions and functionality will have for the Network by clearly communicating the case for change and value proposition.
  • Provide leadership in the change communication to key internal and external stakeholders so that they can effectively support the delivery of operational change for people throughout the transition process.
  • Manage, support and attend where relevant meetings and events with stakeholders to help identify potential people risks, anticipated points of resistance to develop specific plans to mitigate the concerns and support the development and publishing of high-quality change resources.

 

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  1. Extensive public health experience and a record of achievement in an engagement role within a large and a complex service environment.
  2. Previous experience managing and leading public health projects.
  3. Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative skills to enable analysis of relevant data.
  4. Proven capacity to contribute to and implement strategic initiatives, including the capability to plan and manage change.
  5. Capability to initiate major project communication activities to build awareness among program teams and key stakeholders, improve program understanding and promote goals, values and objectives of the public health network.
  6. Strong customer focused skills.
  7. Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  8. Ability to manage conflicting stakeholder priorities, and build trust.
  9. Ability to work well as a member of a large team, to collaborate and share knowledge.
