What You'll Be Doing:

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. The purpose of the position is to provide an efficient and effective cleaning and waste services for clinical and non-clinical areas of The Sutherland Hospital by performing a range of cleaning, waste removal & linen distribution duties.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare facility or commercial facility.
  2. Willing to clean rooms that are or were occupied by persons with an infectious condition.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to prioritise and organise workloads.
  4. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a member of a team.
  5. Demonstrated ability to perform duties as outlined in the job demands and understanding of good manual handling capabilities.
  6. Demonstrated understanding of universal precautions and waste segregation.
  7. Proven ability to work varying shifts with flexible start times as may be required to provide a seven-days roster, day and evening service.
  8. Capable of working at heights and knowledge of cleaning procedures & equipment.
