About the role

We currently have a permanent part time position available for 8 hours per week. We are also looking to increase our casual pool and seeking suitable applicants to apply at this time.

Our goal to build 'healthier rural people and thriving communities' is the shared responsibility of all involved in care of our patients and the Hospital Assistant is an integral and valued member of our team. 

You will help nursing staff in hospitals and other health care establishments with non-medical duties including housekeeping, portering patients and general assistance.

You will be available to work 2 shifts, 06:30am-3pm & 10:30am-7pm over a 7 day roster.

This varied and interesting role which may include transferring patients within the hospital, linen maintenance & medical supply restocking, cooking and/or preparing light refreshments of patients, general cleaning as required including rooms and equipment, and assisting generally as directed by nursing staff.

You will need to be reliable, punctual and energetic, physically fit, have a caring and supportive attitude and use your good communication skills to be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Remaining calm in emergencies and the capability to handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment is also valued.

In a small, close knit team of 9 staff you will be well supported and your dedication will be seen and appreciated. You will be an integral member of the community and you’ll see not only the results of your care, but the appreciation of the community of the role you play in their health.
