Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a motivated and organised Administration Officer to join the newly established Residential Eating Disorders Centre (REDC) at Charlestown. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative statewide service delivering specialist eating disorder treatment in a modern, purpose-built facility.
About the Service
In 2025, Hunter New England Local Health District opened the Residential Eating Disorders Centre (REDC) as part of baiyangbaiyaang, a statewide comprehensive eating disorder treatment facility located in Charlestown.
REDC is a 12-bed residential service providing evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation for people aged 16 years and over experiencing eating disorders. The service delivers a seven-day multidisciplinary program in a homelike environment, supporting recovery through compassionate and specialised care.
You will also support the Eating Disorders Clinical Support Team (CST), a specialist multidisciplinary team providing consultation, education and treatment support across Hunter New England Local Health District.
About the Role
Working closely with the REDC Service Manager and supported by an experienced AO5 onsite, you will provide high-level administrative and customer service support across two specialist mental health services.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Managing reception, phone and email enquiries
Scheduling appointments and meetings
Data entry and maintaining electronic records
Referral and correspondence management
Ordering supplies and maintaining office systems
Assisting with workforce administration and reporting
Supporting communication with clients, carers and stakeholders
This role requires someone who can work professionally across two separate services while maintaining confidentiality, strong organisational skills and clear professional boundaries.

Essential Requirements
Relevant administrative qualifications and/or equivalent experience
Eligible to drive in NSW
