About the Role

Hunter New England Imaging is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. This role provides high-quality nursing care within a medical imaging and interventional environment, supporting patients undergoing diagnostic and procedural care across HNEI sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred care within the unit/facility, ensuring care is delivered collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

  • Support patients and their families/carers by explaining clinical interventions and service delivery processes to enable informed decision-making regarding individual health needs.

  • Recognise, report, and appropriately respond to changes in patients’ clinical condition during the pre- and post-procedural phases, ensuring timely escalation of care.

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines, including those with legal and professional implications for nursing practice.

  • Participate in a seven-day rotating on-call roster and demonstrate flexibility to work across HNEI sites as required.


Essential Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Accreditation and demonstrated competence in intravenous cannulation.

  • Advanced Life Support and airway management certification, or a willingness to obtain and maintain relevant accreditation.

 

Desirable Experience
Previous experience in medical imaging nursing, including interventional procedures, Cath Lab, anaesthetics recovery and/or theatre experience, or a demonstrated willingness to undertake training to develop these skills.
