As a Health Promotion Officer, you will play an important role in planning, implementing, evaluating, reporting on, and sustaining programs and policies designed to strengthen protective factors for mental wellbeing, improve mental health literacy, support the physical health of mental health consumers, and reduce the health impacts experienced by disadvantaged communities. Through collaboration with partners across health, community, and government sectors, this role contributes to creating lasting, positive outcomes and healthier, more resilient communities.
Are You the Right Fit?
The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in health promotion, particularly in mental health promotion and wellbeing initiatives, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice and program delivery.
This role requires exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and work collaboratively towards collective impact. Candidates should possess strong organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Those who are passionate about improving population health outcomes, engaging with diverse communities, and developing innovative solutions to complex health challenges will be well placed to excel in this rewarding position.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Tertiary qualifications in health or related field and demonstrated knowledge and experience in health promotion planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination particularly relating to promoting mental health and wellbeing strategies and programs across the lifespan.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of current health promotion theory and evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain partnerships with other staff and government, non-governmentand community organisations.
- Effective organisational, problem solving and team skills including the ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
