Where you'll be working
Healthy Aging and Community Falls Prevention.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of this position is to develop, implement and evaluate population health strategies. This includes improving and advocating for healthier built environments within the community as well as in the workplace. A primary focus of this position is active and sustainable travel, including strategies to reduce emissions related to staff commuting. The position will also work in partnership with internal and external stakeholder planning processes to advocate for the planning of places that support the health and wellbeing of people. This position may require the staff member to be available for some evening and very occasional weekends to attend local council meetings and events.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in health promotion, public health, education, community development, health sciences, sociology or other related discipline.
  2. Proven project management capabilities including planning, implementation and oversight of health promotion initiatives relevant to Healthy Aging and Falls Prevention. Experience with the Stepping On Falls Prevention program is desirable.
  3. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, time deadlines, budgetary constraints and work both independently and collaboratively.
  4. Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders that support the Healthy Aging and Falls Prevention portfolio activities..
