The Opportunity
Gain valuable healthcare experience in a specialised security role!
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out core security tasks such as customer service, patrols, respond to alarms, and access control
- Engage in direct patient contact, including assistance with care and transfers within the facility
- Perform cleaning duties following strict infection control protocols
- You will be involved in lifting and moving patients, ensuring personal hygiene needs are met
- Manage challenging patient situations with professionalism, understanding and empathy
About you
- A team player who’s also confident working independently
- Organised, adaptable, and calm under pressure
- Committed to delivering excellent service to patients, staff, and visitors
- Ability to work shift work (Essential)
- A class 1A Security Licence or willingness to obtain (Essential)
Support and Training
- You’ll be supported by your direct line manager, with additional guidance from the Security Lead at Maitland Hospital
- A thorough orientation and ongoing education will be provided to help you succeed in your role
- Site-specific and manual handling training included
- We encourage and welcome requests for further development or quality improvement initiatives
