The role
The role manages the services of The Royal Hospital for Women which are tailored to the unique healthcare needs of women and deliver a full range of specialist services in gynaecology, maternity, and neonatal care.
As most senior point of leadership in The Royal Hospital for Women, the occupant leads the hospital management team, supports the District’s priorities and engages in effective relationships with a wide range of people and organisations connected with the hospital. The position reports to the Executive Director, Operations SESLHD.

Selection Criteria

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant equivalent experience in a large complex, health organisation
- Demonstrate knowledge of budgets, revenue, and expenditure within the fiscal accountabilities framework
- Demonstrate the ability to develop, direct and lead a diverse team across multi-disciplinary clinical and clinical support functions
- Demonstrate management, leadership, conceptual and problem solving skills for managing an acute care hospital
- Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills and demonstrated ability to consult, influence and negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to exercise sound judgment/initiative, manage issues, make complex decisions and operate independently within delegated responsibility
- Advanced skills in inspiring direction and purpose within disparate professional and facility based healthcare teams to communicate goals, priorities and vision and recognise achievements
