How to Apply

- Being female is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 31 of the Anti- Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW) and be Registered as a Nurse, Midwife, Sexual Health Nurse or Women's Health Nurse with a current registration with APHRA.
- Minimum 5 years nurse experience clinical work as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with an interest in working in the area of violence abuse and neglect.
- Successfully completed the Graduate Certificate Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault Course prior to practising in the role of a SANE. The FWLHD will financially support the cost of training and attendance at workshops.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a trauma informed and culturally safe manner.
- Able to respond to call out on a 24hour roster, within the timeframes as per the NSW Standard and Guidelines for NSW Health Sexual Assault Services, NSW Domestic Family Violence Standards and Guidelines and the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) Medical Protocol.
- Ability to work in a team with Sexual Assault counselling staff and be flexible to work within a 24 hour roster.
- Demonstrated advanced level of communication (written and verbal) interpersonal and negotiation skills with variety of clients, groups, staff and agencies.
- Current 'C' class motor vehicle licence.
