About the Role
The NSW Community Forensic Mental Health Services collaborates with NSW Police and NSW Health Local Health Districts (LHDs) to support LHD treating teams in managing fixated persons with a mental illness. The FTAC Coordinator works alongside the other teams within the NSW CFMHS to ensure this cohort of patients can access appropriate assessment, treatment and support.
The FTAC Coordinator will review clinical and law enforcement material for the NSW FTAC Program and participate in case discussions and management planning for individuals at risk of engaging in violence due to a persistent fixation or grievance, with the primary goal of facilitating access to mental health assessment and treatment. The role requires close liaison and collaboration with Local Health Districts and NSW Police. The successful applicant will provide education and support to Local Health Districts and NSW Government internal and external stakeholders for all NSW FTAC matters, where appropriate, under the supervision of the NSW CFMHS Clinical Director.
- Tertiary qualifications in nursing or allied health, and full registration with the relevant professional board (where required).
- Clinical Nurse Consultant-: Current unrestricted Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Possesses the attributes to undertake and meet the Domains and Functions of Clinical Nurse Consultant - Grade 2 as per IB2024_009.The Clinical Nurse Consultant practices in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Professional Standards, including Nurses Standards for Practice, Code of ethics for Nurses and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses to deliver professional, competent care in line with public expectations.
- Minimum five years full-time equivalent for nursing post-registration experience, including at least three years’ experience in the specialty field, with relevant postgraduate qualifications
- Demonstrated extensive experience in forensic mental health practice
- Demonstrated extensive experience in providing high level stakeholder engagement and training to NSW Health staff.

The Justice Health Olympic Park (JHOP) office is located at 10 Herb Elliot Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park and Justice Health staff are able to access discounted parking at $5 a day. Public transport is readily available including buses, trains, and ferries. Easy road access is provided via the M4 and Parramatta Road via Homebush Bay Drive. 35 km of bicycle paths surround the site and both bicycle storage and shower amenities are available inside.
