  • Minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the field of forensic mental health.
  • Appropriate health qualifications and professional registration within NSW/Australia with the relevant registration board; with capacity to provide education and supervision.
  • Sound working knowledge of psychiatric disorders, high level mental status examination skills, skills in undertaking a clinical assessment and working knowledge of contemporary psychosocial interventions.
  • Demonstrated experience in violence risk assessment and management, including familiarity with Structured Professional Judgement processes and tools
  • Working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007) and Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990, as well as other relevant legislation, i.e. Child Protection, Crimes Act 1900, NSW Trustee & Guardianship Act 2009.
  • Excellent report writing skills, including the ability to compile medicolegal reports
  • Highly developed interpersonal, liaison and problem solving skills, which facilitate care planning with other services and working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Understanding of the principles of equity and diversity in the workplace, work health and safety accountabilities and experience in positively contributing to the workplace culture.
