An exciting opportunity exists for subspecialist Diagnostic Radiologists to join the high performing Department of Radiology at Westmead Hospital, a major tertiary and quaternary referral centre in NSW.
The Department of Radiology at Westmead Hospital is entering an exciting phase of transformation, with a strong focus on a positive, engaged, and forward looking department. Delivering a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services across Western Sydney Local Health District, the department supports complex acute and subspecialty clinical care within one of Australia’s busiest tertiary environments.

We welcome applications from Radiologists with subspeciality interest in MSK, Neuro, Cardiothoracic, Body, Critical Care, and Paediatric Imaging.
This appointment is for the remainder of the current Quinquennium, ending 30 June 2027.
The Role:
· Deliver high quality diagnostic imaging in a busy tertiary environment
· Participate in image triage, reporting, supervision, and on call services
· Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
· Opportunities to contribute to teaching and clinical or basic science research

Essential Requirements for Appointment
· Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency alternatively have an Australian working visa. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license
· Sound clinical knowledge in diagnostic radiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.
Selection Criteria
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency alternatively have an Australian working visa.
2. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license.
3. Sound clinical knowledge in diagnostic radiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
4. Demonstrate high level interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision of junior trainees and medical students, and familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support clinical research within the Department.
6. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.
7. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner.
