Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be primarily located at Westmead Hospital within the Department of Neurosurgery.

The Interventional Radiology Services within the Department of Neurosurgery provides the full spectrum of INR Procedures including clot retrieval and stroke management, aneurysm treatment by coil or stent or embolistation.

Applicants expecting to be awarded fellowship within 6 months are eligible to apply. 

The position will be for a period of twelve months for the 2026 clinical Year.

Essential Requirements for Appointment

1.    Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RACR, RACS or RACP or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable)

2.    Sound clinical knowledge in Interventional Neuroradiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position

3.    Expertise in relevant fields sufficient for appointment to the position

 

 Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.

1.    Prior experience in Interventional Radiology is desired.

2.    Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:

5.    Commitment to good governance, achieving results and managing risks.

6.    Demonstrated commitment to Education, Training and Research, as applicable to the position.
