Fixed Term 0.35 Postgraduate Fellow – Vitreo-Retinal - Department of Ophthalmology - Westmead Hospital | APPLY VIA E-CREDENTIAL
Selection Criteria
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RANZCO or international ophthalmology equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
2. Sound clinical knowledge in Ophthalmology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position as well as knowledge of vitreo-retinal disease.
3. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including:
· High level interpersonal and communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
· Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.
· Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision
4. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
5. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position and are commensurate with the scope of practice requirements of the position
6. Excellent cataract/anterior segment surgical skills (phacoemulsification surgery)
7. Good understanding of vitreo-retinal conditions and procedures, with practical experience in vitreo-retinal surgery.
