Reporting to the Engineering and Building Services Manager, you’ll be part of a well-organised, down-to-earth team with a reputation for getting things done.

With no two days the same, you’ll have plenty of variety in your work.

About the Role

As a Fitter / Motor Mechanic, you’ll provide mechanical support across the Lower Mid North Coast Sector Health Facilities.

Your work will include:

• Installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical fixtures, fittings and equipment.
• Inspecting, maintaining and repairing equipment including air-conditioning units, pumps, mechanical ductwork and patient beds.
• Prioritising and completing maintenance requests to support the effective operation of health services.
• Responding to mechanical issues while minimising disruption to patients and staff.
• Working collaboratively with other trades and Facilities Management team members.
• Recording work details, materials, costs and time accurately using designated systems.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and tidy work environment.
• Participating in overtime and on-call rosters as required.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Fitter and Turner or Motor Mechanic who takes pride in their work and can get the job done safely and efficiently.

You’ll have:

• A current NSW Driver Licence.
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage your time and work with minimal supervision.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Reliability, flexibility and a willingness to help wherever needed.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary trades team.

Essential Criteria 

• TAFE Trades Certificate in Fitting and Machining or Qualified Motor Mechanic
