About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Facility Nurse Manager, who will lead with vision and integrity, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while fostering a supportive and empowered team environment. Your role will be pivotal in driving clinical excellence, strengthening staff capability, and creating a culture where residents, families, and staff feel valued and respected. As the Facility Nurse Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operational management of nursing and other clinical and non-clinical support services at the facility level to provide safe compassionate person centred care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve safe quality care outcomes that meet the goals of the individual at the facility.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Current authority to practise as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, with experience commensurate to Nurse Manager Grade 3 (as outlined in Appendix 1 – Core Knowledge and Skills of the Public Health System Nurses’ and Midwives’ (State) Award 2015).
- Demonstrated senior leadership and management experience, with qualifications in health management, health policy and planning, business, or a related discipline (or currently working towards).
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and manage conflict with clinicians, managers, staff, and external stakeholders, along with strong computer literacy across workforce, performance, and analytics systems.
- Proven experience in financial and activity/service delivery management, including developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and achieve service targets.
- Strong people leadership capability, including the ability to motivate, inspire, and manage teams through change using recognised change management principles.
- Demonstrated understanding of accreditation processes and their linkage to quality and safety improvement.
- Experience managing a complex service environment with competing demands for access, throughput, and resources.
- A current Class C driver’s licence, with the ability and willingness to travel across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, including driving long distances as required.
