Provide opportunities whereby consumers engaged with the Shoalhaven Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service may choose to participate in exercise activities which promote improved physical health, wellbeing, self-esteem, and personal fulfilment. 

The Exercise Physiologist position will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team of the Shoalhaven Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service (SCMHRS) to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness and acceptability of targeted lifestyle interventions to reduce cardio-metabolic risk factors in consumers with mental illness. 

The position will contribute to a holistic assessment of the consumer's physical health, developing an individualised and tailored exercise program to meet the consumer's physical health needs and evaluate the effectiveness and acceptability of the program. 

The position will contribute to the development of resources for consumers, their families and carers and clinicians. 

The Exercise Physiologist will apply clinical knowledge in the assessment, exercise prescription, health education, and delivery of individual and group exercise, lifestyle, and behaviour modification programs. Consumers may have complex health needs and strong application of practice skills will be necessary. The position will also involve the delivery of health promotion activities and may be required to provide clinical supervision and support to students on clinical placements.

This is a temporary parental leave relief position until 1 November 2026 with the possibility of an extension at same or reduced hours.
