Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead the strategic management of all capital and infrastructure projects, service planning, and sustainability across our dynamic and diverse health district.

 

About the Role
As a key member of the Executive Team, you will provide high-level strategic advice on all matters related to infrastructure projects, service planning, and sustainability. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering complex capital works and planning initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, improve service efficiency, and support sustainable growth.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Leading the planning, delivery, and implementation of major infrastructure and sustainability projects across the district
  • Providing strategic oversight and direction to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including NSW Health Infrastructure, clinical teams, government representatives, and local communities
  • Working closely with the Strategic Relations and Communications team to manage stakeholder engagement and communications
  • Fostering a culture that reflects the HNE Health Values Charter and promotes continuous improvement through the Excellence Framework
  • Championing safety, wellbeing, and cultural respect in alignment with the Closing the Gap strategy and Work Health and Safety best practices

 

About You
You are a confident senior leader with:

  • Extensive experience in leading large-scale, complex health infrastructure projects and service planning initiatives
  • A deep understanding of patient-focused care, service design, access planning, and quality improvement
  • Proven success in business case development, project implementation, and evaluation
  • Strong change leadership capabilities with experience guiding large organisations through transformation
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and drive collaborative outcomes
