Where you’ll be working:
Belmont Hospital is a modern facility located close to Lake Macquarie, just 20 minutes from Newcastle’s vibrant city centre. The hospital is home to four Operating Theatres and a dedicated Day Surgery Unit delivering high-quality surgical care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Day Surgery Unit operates Monday to Friday with staggered shifts starting from 7:00am to 11:30am, finishing at 8:00pm. Occasional overtime may be required. You’ll be part of a skilled and welcoming team where teamwork, communication and patient-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.
About the role:
As an Enrolled Nurse in the Day Surgery Unit, you’ll support patients throughout their perioperative journey – from admission and preparation through to recovery and discharge. You’ll work alongside Registered Nurses, medical staff, and clinical educators to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.

About you:
You’re an experienced surgical EN who:
- Has recent experience in Day Surgery and/or surgical nursing
- Can work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Communicates clearly with patients, medical staff, and senior colleagues
- Is proactive, reliable, and passionate about delivering excellent patient care
Requirements:
- Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed)
- Recent surgical or perioperative nursing experience
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Availability for weekday shifts between 7:00am and 8:00pm, with some flexibility for overtime
